Band & Drums --- just returned from a 'gig' (the Royal Tournament, Earls Court, London) when this was taken on the Playing Fields --- Summer 1962. Note the 12 Fanfare Trumpeters we had in those days, new in 1962. (I'm one of them, on the extreme right, third row up!) Each trumpet was pitched differently (trumpet sound down to bass), each banner had the DY Crest on one side and that of a different Service Regiment or Corps on its reverse. Mine just happened to have the badge of the Royal Corps of Signals upon it; a predictive coincidence! WO1 (Bandmaster) G.D. Hart was 'boss' at the time. |
( You may recognise the music here, the School Regimental Slow March, 'Duke of York'.)
